CALL OF DUTY: WWII – SEND IN THE CAVALRY!

This new section of Call of Duty: WWII is amazing for players who are focused on goals and new game mechanics. Read tips on how to use cavalry effectively.

Armors!

When you select the cavalry section, you are automatically given cavalry as a basic weapon. Do not worry about what to choose for "essential" -

 Because it will be automatically dissected as a secondary weapon, but without any attachments. When equipped, this shield will provide cover and absorb damage from bullets and explosives, make sure to bend for turtles and provide cover for your legs. It also provides a small amount of coverage when sitting on your back, but not as effective. Using the shield, your tank will become a team in combat positions. If used correctly, the enemy can waste their whole magazine trying to get around the lid. While they reload, switch to another weapon or use a grenade to neutralize their attack.

Secondary Recommendations

Because your secondary does not have any attachments, so choose something you can wear with the stock weapon. The submachine gun or submachine gun is a viable option in the secondary cavalry, because it gives you a short-term punch after approaching your enemy. For a particular submachine gun, the Waffe 28 is one of the fastest automatic rifles without launching any attachments, and it will be great in close combat. Instead, it can give you a little gun out of reach as a cavalry soldier. The STG-44 is a fast weapon that is still effective in the long run with short bursts. It is also convenient to use with no attachments, so try it out and discover some other options if it is not suitable for your heart's playstyle.

The Best Offense is a Good Defense

Upon unlocking the second level of the Cavalry, you can Shield Charge to ram enemies. This is activated by sprinting and hitting the melee button, similar to how you would use a Bayonet.

Do not be afraid to tackle your enemies Shield first, because if this hunk of metal hits, it will hurt. But be aware that by using the Shield Charge, you may expose yourself to getting flanked and taking enemy fire on your sides. Treat the Shield as if you were a boxer; landing a knockout punch takes patience, so do not swing wildly and try to find the best moment to charge into your opponent.

Bring a Buddy

Having the Cavalry Shield is great, except that you become your enemy’s biggest target. Some may attempt to go around and shoot your exposed back, while others will try and stick a N° 74 ST grenade onto your Shield for the kill.

You can only do so much by using a Shield, so it’s best that you party up with a friend or a teammate whenever you use this Division. Act as that person’s damage sponge, and they will be able protect your six.

Communication will be key when rolling with a squadmate or two, as they may not be aware of a flanking or grenade-happy enemy. Call out whatever threats you see but be patient if your teammates cannot help you out of every situation.

Focus on the Objective

Upon leveling up the Cavalry Division to its third level, you unlock improved objective capabilities. That perk, along with the Division’s fourth level Training benefit of earning extra score on objectives, is what really defines the role of the Cavalry in-game.

Whether you decide to use the Shield or roll with your go-to weapon, you will want to become your team’s main objective player. The Cavalry can be the best equipped to hop on Domination Flags and Hardpoints, capture flags or the Gridiron ball, or plant or defuse bombs, all while racking up more points towards Scorestreaks.

Trust us, you will get a lot of thanks from your teammates by playing to the objective in any game mode with the Cavalry Division.

It’s Okay to get the Assist

In Call of Duty: WWII, earning an assist always gives you less score than what you earn from a kill. However, upon levelling up the Cavalry Division to level four, earning two assists in one life will count as a kill for score purposes.

This Division Training benefit is incredibly helpful for Cavalry users as you may usually not be your team’s main source of damage. Rather than try to go for kills, act as a secondary damage dealer with grenades or block with your Shield to help your teammates.

Your selfless play will be rewarded, and if you and your team are in sync, you could end up picking up some major Scorestreaks while helping your teammates secure kills towards streaks of their own.

Rounding Out Your Division

The Cavalry Division will require a good amount of tactical play, so the rest of your loadout should suit that playstyle.

Take whatever Primary and Tactical Grenades you feel can help you grab objectives. You may want to pick up a Smoke Grenade to obstruct an enemy’s view of an objective and a Satchel Charge to defend it from afar. Alternatively, you can use the classic Mk 2 Fragmentation grenade and British N° 69 stun grenade combo that provides a lot of utility.

Speaking of grenades, consider taking the Concussed Basic Training to stack four grenades on your loadout. Other great Basic Trainings to consider are Ordnance to earn Scorestreaks with less points and Hunker to reduce damage from explosives.

There are also three new Basic Trainings — Escalation, Wanderlust, and Specialist — that are introduced into the game with the Cavalry Division.

Escalation can be useful for your secondary, as it reloads that weapon automatically if you get a multi-kill with it.

Specialist, which is unlocked after Prestiging the Cavalry Division once, gives you an additional Basic Training in game for every 200 points earned. At 800 points, it provides every Basic Training in the game.

Yes, you read that right.

With the amount of points you will earn by playing objectives and getting assists, this Basic Training is a must for being a jack-of-all trades and master of playing the objective.

Last, but not least, Wanderlust is not really recommended if you want to play the Cavalry Division, but it’s a ton of fun. Wanderlust gives you a random weapon — even ones you have not unlocked — every time you switch weapons (i.e. pressing Triangle on your PS4 controller), which means that you’ll lose your Shield the second you spawn in.

However, this is a fun Basic Training to use because you never know what you’re going to get. Maybe you’ll get the exact weapon you need to capture an objective or stop an offensive push cold. Or maybe you'll wind up carrying a baseball bat into a gunfight.

That’s all you need to know about the Cavalry Division, as well as the new Basic Trainings. Like any of the other Divisions in Call of Duty: WWII, the Cavalry provides a unique way to play the game, so get ready to experiment with this Division while playing Multiplayer.
